【原文】

廄（1）焚，子退朝，曰：「傷人乎？」不問馬。

【英文】

The stables caught fire. The Master, on returning from court, asked, “Was anyone hurt?” He did not ask about the horses.

【注釋】

（1）廄，馬房。

【翻譯】

馬房燒了，孔子退朝回來，問道：「有沒有燒傷人？」不問馬燒傷了沒有。

【主旨】孔子重人賤畜。
