【原文】

子曰：「知者樂水（1），仁者樂山（2）。知者動，仁者靜。知者樂，仁者壽。」

【英文】

The Master said, “The wise find joy in water; the benevolent find joy in mountains. The wise are active; the benevolent are still. The wise are joyful; the benevolent are long-lived.”

【注釋】

（1）知者樂水，知者達於事理，有似於水，故樂水。樂，喜好；欣賞。

（2）仁者樂山，仁者安於義理，而厚重不遷，有似於山，故樂山。

【翻譯】

孔子說：「智者喜愛水，仁者喜愛山；智者好動，常務進取，仁者好靜，少思寡慾； 智者功成常樂，仁者恬淡長壽。」

【主旨】存在中庸之道，存在主觀面中庸之道。
