【原文】

子夏曰：「百工居肆（1）以成其事，君子學以致（2）其道。」

【英文】

Zi-xia said, “The artisan, in any of the hundred crafts, masters his trade by staying in his workshop; the gentleman perfects his way through learning.”

【注釋】

（1）肆，官府造作之處。又市廛貨物陳列之所亦曰肆。

（2）致，極也。

【翻譯】

子夏說：「各行各業的人在各種製作的場所，完成他們的工作，君子從事學習，以求得一切的道理。」

【主旨】言學以致道。
